From post-punk beginnings to melancholy daydreams, New Jersey based singer- songwriter, Dennis King AKA SONOFDOV, writes the kind of songs that “transport us and pierce us”. Growing up in the shadow of NYC, King spent his formative years banging around the lower east side club scene (CBGB’s, Brownies) and Hoboken’s Maxwell’s before settling into the alt-folk singer-songwriter of today. King released music that landed in films (coyote, Wander), TV (PBS, Discovery, NatGeo) and in 2019 King signed with Mint 400 Records releasing a full length record,Towers, along with a handful of singles and EP’s.

Renee Maskin

Known for her distinctive voice, literally and artistically, Renee Maskin is a staple of the thriving music scene in Asbury Park, NJ. With three solo LPs released in three years, her prolific output pulls from a deep well of influence, from country, to garage, to modern indie-rock. Maskin has notably opened for a wide range of acts, including Jon Langford (Mekons), William Tyler, Del Amitri, Tyler Ramsey, and notably toured with her former group, Lowlight, in support of The Pretenders. Maskin was named “Songwriter of the Year 2023” by New Jersey Stage Magazine. Her most recent LP, Shimmer, was named one of 2023’s National Top Albums by The Aquarian.

One-woman band Kelli Bruno is indie-folk bourbon for the soul. Her breathtaking vocals, thoughtfully crafted accompaniment, and generous stage presence draw audiences right up on stage with her. A native of Cranford, NJ, she now resides in South River, NJ and has become a regular at infamous venues throughout the tristate area.

Mother Hubbard, a unique funk-rock group hailing from Northern New Jersey, is bringing New Jersey’s infamously unyielding and lively energy to today’s music scene. Captivating listeners with their distinct and strident yet steady and rich sound, Mother Hubbard is a love child between the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Steely Dan. The band has several singles out, including yacht rocker "He's So Lonely" and the edgy "Discontent".

Mother Hubbard’s members met at William Paterson University, which is home to one of the country’s most esteemed jazz music programs. Nick Nella (Vocals and Guitar), Mike Bereski (Bass and Keys), Liam Kerekes (Drums), Patrick Dudasik (Trumpet), and Matt Tischio (Tenor Sax) formed what was first Wishbone, now Mother Hubbard. Their jazz education has endowed the group with noted versatility and fantastic improvisation skills beyond what is found in a typical rock group. Jerry Ulichny of Proper Tea and Mungo’s List has been supporting the band on rhythm guitar since 2023.

Started in 2013, Nowsterday (FKA Circling Drones) is a funk-fusion jazz band that play originals inspired by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, and Thundercat. A lot of their songs have improvisation drawing from years of musical experience. Fronted by multi-instrumentalist, Matthew Moore, they've opened for artists including Robert Glasper and Victor Wooten.

Born in California, and spending the last 15 years in Colorado, Nick Dunbar is no stranger to the wild west and the culture that comes with it. Nick’s captivating debut solo album “Little Country” was released in early 2022, and is stacked with some of Colorado’s finest musicians. On the record he creatively intertwines the classic Western swing and Honky Tonk sounds of greats like Lefty Frizzell, Bob Wills and Ernest Tubb, with the country western traditions of Merl Haggard and Willie Nelson. His songwriting is playful and humorous but also honest and cathartic .  

After playing mandolin in touring bands and pounding the pavement playing Honky Tonks and Dive bars all over the country, Nick decided to slow down to build a life and family with his wife. He began farming, raising livestock and growing vegetable and flower gardens. With three kids and a farm full of chores and animals, he is finding some solace in this more sustainable lifestyle. But Nick continues to write and perform as often as he can. His shows are filled with hot licks and witty banter, and no two shows are alike. He is very entertaining and it is hard to not notice his mega-watt smile and the sparkle in his eyes. With wheels already in motion for another album, be sure to keep your eye on this one!

Water Street is a Pop/Americana  group from the northwestern hills of Blairstown, NJ.  Formed  in 2014,  the band began playing in an old warehouse on Water Street where vocalist/guitarist Dave Paulson lived with his family.  The band adopted the name Water Street as a nod to their roots and began playing out, starting at coffee houses and open  mics, later moving to stages at venues like The Bitter End, The Stone Pony and a main stage at MusikFest. 

Water Street takes the  Americana standards  of acoustic guitar and  mandolin, but mixes them with electric guitar and a prominent  rhythm section  which  rolls  with a  hint of a funk  groove.

In 2016 the band released their first full length album Waiting for Martin, a 10 track album of original songs to rave reviews. Their follow-up EP Dear You  was released in 2017. The band's third album, All We Tried To Be,  debuted in March, 2022.

With members Dave Paulson (guitar/vocals), Connor Konecnik (drums), Joe Byrne (bass) and Mike Stark (electric guitar), Water Street continually delivers a unique and authentic musical experience for their  audience and are certainly a band on the rise.

Grammy Nominated Songwriter, Christine Santelli has been on the NYC music scene for more than 3 decades. She has toured around the world and has released 10 CD’s over her  career.  Her Songwriting has caught the attention of Soul R&B singer Bettye LaVette, who has recorded two of Santelli’s songs on her last two albums “Step Away” on 2015 release “Worthy” and “Old” 2013 release “More Thankful More Thoughtful.  Santelli’s most recent EP, “Limelight ‘69”was chosen 2013 EP of the Year by Deep Roots Magazine. “ The beauty of Limelight ’69 is that you don’t have to buy any of your faithful friend and narrator’s cockamamie ideas about its narrative arc but can rather enjoy the tunes here as unconnected short stories—literate, engaging, darkly humorous in spots, certainly unabashedly romantic by the time the curtain comes down—and appreciate a fine songwriter at the top of her game.” Deep Roots Magazine

Anthony Tamburro is a Jersey native, and the influence of the area’s bluesy rock tradition can be felt in the pulse of his debut album, Alaska. But Tamburro’s poignancy is all his own, and we are drawn in to his story teller lyrics.

Alex Mazzucchelli is a singer, songwriter and proud native New Yorker. An accomplished vocalist, one of her first notable achievements dates back to her teenage years where she gained recognition for her powerhouse vocals and became a top finalist in AOL’s nationwide singing competition, “American Dreamz”. It was at this juncture in which she was selected as the opening act for American Idol alum, Kimberly Locke and R&B duo, Nina Sky. Alex went on to pursue her passion and education upon being accepted into NYU Tisch School of the Arts.Some of Alex's performance highlights have been at Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, 54Below, The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, The Egg, The Roxy, Bowery Electric, and beyond. In 2022, she released her debut EP, “Rise", and was featured on American Songwriter’s Hot Indies Top Favorites. Her music has also been recognized by the Grammy Museum Organization. She was named a Music Rising Star from Medium Magazine and was the featured artist for Canvas Rebel and the SI Advance. Christina Alessi and the Toll Collectors are a quintet led by a seasoned storyteller who sings from the heart. We counted off our first song in late 2014 in a former industrial building on the Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel. They say that friends are the family you choose, and our music is an extension of our bond.

And how do we sound? (Ah, every band’s favorite question.) Like rain on the windshield during a late-night drive. Or a jukebox sing-along in a neighborhood dive. A bit of country, rock, and soul. But something else, too. Heartbroken, yet defiant. Down, but never out. Resolute.

It might help to mention that there’s violin and mandolin, a lead vocalist who thrives on connecting with audiences large and small, and four more singers who pile on the harmonies. I guess you could call it Americana music. But why not just listen?

Crafting original deep blues rock songs based on Americana and past eras keeps them fresh and alluring. Using a Guitar driven songwriter approach and a pulsing wall of bass , the rock/jazz drumming style cements their classic yet modern sound.

The Fleetaways is an indie folk duo whose influences include Americana, country-rock, and the classic harmonies of bands like the Mama’s & The Papas. Made up of co-founders/co-songwriters Jenna Laurenzo & Michael Browne, the two NJ natives met on the elevator of the Elevator JC building in Jersey City. The fated elevator ride revealed they shared twin Sanskrit tattoos, a love of thrill-seeking travel, and a desire for music-making as a duo, so an instantaneous decision to collaborate was made. Jenna is an award-winning director, writer, and actress who threw herself into music during the pandemic when she wrote The River, a song for a short film she released as a follow-up to her viral hit Girl Night Stand. Michael’s a classically trained guitarist who honed his craft under the guidance of Roland Dynes and is a multi-instrumental producer at his recording studio, Synesthetic Studio, in Jersey City. Their uncanny connection continued with the discovery that both Jenna and Michael have had near-death experiences. Their debut single GOODBYE came out of those flashes of life that happen on the precipice of Nevermore. Sharing a deep curiosity about the transience of life, their upcoming album was born out of a deep longing to capture life’s fleeting moments and feelings. And so their name “The Fleetaways” was born.

Rugburn is a high-energy funk/rock group from New Brunswick, NJ that takes their listeners from Funkytown all the way to Flavortown with their adventurous improvisations and tight grooves, keeping things fresh from beginning to end of the set. Rugburn is composed of four jazz performance graduates from Rutgers University which includes Carter Vames on sax and synth, Josh Siegel on guitar, Ian Young on bass, and Jem Seidel on drums. The rugboys have been playing together for five years now and with their manager, Mary, have traversed from NYC down to Nashville and New Orleans.

Jack Breslin is a musician raised in Massachusetts but currently residing in Jersey City, NJ. With a bachelor's degree in music from Drew University and a Master's degree in Upright Bass Jazz Performance from NJCU, Jack has studied with the likes of Sabatino D'Agostino, Andy Eulau, and Mike Karn. He performs regularly with his own jazz groups as well as with groups of every genre and affiliation. He has performed with jazz greats such as Kurt Elling, Dave Liebman, Allan Farnham, Joel Weiskopf, Walt Weiskopf, Tim Horner, and many others. He performs regularly with Sylvana Joyce & The Moment, The Manimals, Gerry Rosenthal Trio, Dave Lockhart (SPK), James Calleo, BWQ, in and around the Tri-State area. He also teaches bass and cello to beginners and intermediate students alike.

jacob tremont writes and independently produces alternative folk/country music (like bright eyes, alex g., or lucinda williams). his latest release, “snake eyes” is available now on all major streaming apps. jacob performs most often solo or with his band at intimate showcases and house shows.

Andrew is a person who plays guitar, sings songs, and lives in The Heights. He has released three albums on Underwater Peoples: Moon Deluxe (2010), Home Life (2013) and Fort/da (2020). In a previous life, he played guitar in Titus Andronicus.

Sean Kiely is one of Jersey City's most exciting and original musical voices, working mostly in the acoustic music realm. In 2023 he wrapped up a yearlong residency at Fox & Crow, and he's excited to return to the Parlour to preview songs from his recently completed next full-length album, due out later in 2024. In addition to performing and recording with his own band, he is in demand as a sideperson, regularly performing with Abbie Gardner, Hilary Hawke, and the Archer's house bluegrass band the Go Bailers.

Zoe Guigueno is a bassist & songwriter headquartered in New York City. A folk musician who went to jazz school, the music she creates has been described as “warm and inviting” and “slightly unpredictable” (sendmeyourears.com). She writes about people and places, aiming to shine light on the lesser known corners of the world & the trials of the everyday person. As a songwriter she has released three albums, and as a bass player has toured internationally for over 15 years.

Zoe & Sean will each perform a duo set of their own music (Sean will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Chris Parker and Zoe by Darren Solomon), and they plan to collaborate as guests on each other’s tunes.
